Spoiler-complete through Chapter 43 (published Royal Road chapters are canon). One spoiler-full 2–4 sentence summary per chapter, using exact published titles.
1. Legends of Heroes
Landen Thorne, Earth's #1-ranked Legends of Heroes player and the secretive streamer "Lone Knight," carries Team Thorne through the International Tournament qualifier — surviving a 4v1 kill attempt by DG, then single-handedly wiping DG in a 1v5 pentakill and racing their crystal to win the series. Moments after his victory interview, while gaming in his room, a blinding light rips him out of Earth — and he wakes up naked in an unfamiliar forest in another world.
2. Lost and Naked
Discovered naked and confused by Officers Doe and Ray, Landen is tranquilized, misregistered as "Mifaso Latido" (the officers mishear his sung musical notes), implanted with a wrist ID tracker, and transported to Aegis Vanguard Military Academy on Chief Marshal Gordon Vanderbilt's orders. Landen realizes with growing horror that he has been transmigrated into a cultivation-style world he knows nothing about.
3. Aegis Vanguard Military Academy
At freshman orientation, Chief Marshal Vanderbilt addresses the new students with legends of the academy's history, and Professor Celestine Varro's Dantian Energy lecture introduces dantians, essence energy, and the Essence Grades. Landen tries to stay invisible, but Vanderbilt's tree creature plucks him from the crowd and drops him on the demonstration stage.
4. Essence Grade
Landen attempts to flee the academy but Vanderbilt's giant summoned tree creature catches him mid-air and delivers him back; he undergoes the Essence Reader test before the whole freshman class. The test ends on a cliffhanger as the machine processes his result.
5. Soul Color
Landen's essence grade comes back Civilian/0 — the lowest possible — but his soul-color test turns completely clear, a blank slate that, per Bob, means he can wield everything at the highest level or nothing at all. He is pulled into a strange white arena/void where a godlike child speaks to him as "the son of the Creator."
6. The Awakening
The godlike child is nicknamed Bob; he reveals he summoned Landen to be his knight and offers him a choice of class and power. Landen chooses Fighter (sword primary, fist secondary) and accepts the MOBA System rather than returning to Earth, binding himself to Bob's mission.
7. The MOBA System - Level up
Bob force-awakens Landen's system: Landen receives a female-voiced system guide, levels from Civilian to Elementary 1, gains 10 attribute points and a 0/100 XP bar, and unlocks the tabs Abilities, Inventory, Ranking, Heroes, and Training. He begins experimenting with stat allocation and the system's interface.
8. The MOBA System - Abilities
Landen learns the system's energy/equipment mechanics and takes the D-class passive Critical Damage; Bob reveals the stakes — Landen must kill the champion chosen by Bob's universe-erasing brother, or die himself. Landen officially registers at the academy under the name Landen Knight.
9. Home Room - Ember
Ember Strife — top entrance scorer, Cindercrest beauty — is introduced in homeroom; Bob's attraction-rerouting seal turns Landen's involuntary reaction to her into visible disgust, which the whole class reads as a public rejection. Ember is humiliated and furious, and the rivalry/fixation between them ignites.
10. Home Room - World Battle Arena
Kael Halvek explains the World Battle Arena Association (WBAA), freshman five-man teams, lane roles, and the mass expulsions to come; the white-haired greatsword prodigy (#56) challenges Landen on the spot. Halvek stops their clash mid-punch without being seen moving, and Landen realizes his instructor is a high-level threat.
11. Test 1 - Agility - Part 1
The freshman agility test — Wisp Tag, a maze of floating wisps with abilities like healing, freezing, point-stealing, and revealing — begins; Landen receives system quests and slips into accelerated system training mid-test. He starts decoding the wisps' behavior patterns instead of chasing them.
12. Test 1 - Agility - Part 2
Landen decodes the wisp abilities and catches the high-value rainbow wisp — a fraction of a second too late to score it; despite having the cohort's slowest speed, his tactical play lands him 5th overall. Silas Vance takes first in Agility.
13. Strength
The Kinetic Wave assessment measures weapon potential against an obelisk; Landen trips and face-plants into the obelisk, scoring zero and cementing his reputation as the weakest freshman. The white-haired prodigy posts the top strength score.
14. Written Exam
After sleeping through (being unconscious for) the endurance, precision, and energy-density tests, Landen sleeps through the written exam too — but alone answers its real final question, "What is your name?", placing first and baffling Professor Varro. The exam was a test of identity and resolve, not knowledge.
15. Results
Landen publicly tells Ember her face makes him gag (Bob's seal, again), deepening their feud; the results cull the class — fifteen students survive — and Landen is classified Support and listed as Team B's captain, alongside Ember, Jareth, Elara, and Veya. Team assignments lock in the freshman roster.
16. Team Halvek
The team's essence-crest uniforms reveal Landen as zero-star on academy records, Ember at 3.5 stars, and the others around two — while Halvek shows a five-star crest. Halvek begins shaping his expanded six-man roster, and Landen feels the gap between his hidden system power and his official standing.
17. First Town Hall
The globally broadcast freshman competition is announced; top performers are named — Lysara, Torvin, Magnus, Thalia, Landen, and the white-haired rival, now identified as Maledic Thorne. Landen gets his first look at the class's real power structure.
18. Dormitories
Landen meets Elara/Elle, receives his "undefined soul" housing assignment, and discovers the locked sword and MOBA Bracer in his dorm; he is roomed with Maledic Thorne. The Underground leaderboard ranks "Mifaso Latido" #1, and the Ember Rejects begin organizing.
19. Brothers
Landen and Maledic emotionally declare themselves brothers despite the System insisting they come from different worlds; Team B enters its first simulated World Battle Arena tutorial match. Their bond becomes the story's emotional core.
20. Five v Bots
In the tutorial sim, Landen abandons his team to farm alone, hits level 8, scores a Rampage, and destroys the enemy obelisk single-handedly while his teammates die repeatedly — winning the match and infuriating Ember, who accuses him of exploiting a glitch. His gamer instincts clash with real teamwork for the first time.
21. Support 101
Team Drex (River Ashlock's crew) spies on Landen's sim feed; Cedric Lowen hacks Ember's terminal for the Ember Rejects; Landen meets Liora Fenwick, explores the Rankings tab, and begins training during Varro's lecture. The surveillance net around Landen tightens.
22. Ember Rejects
Rejected freshman Zik is inducted into the Ember Rejects as ER #43; Ryker Tann publicly challenges Landen — the top-ranked freshman "Mifaso" — to an Underground 1v1. Landen accepts, and the duel is set.
23. 1 v 1
Landen enters the AR duel in the Underground's Bubble, buys defensively, names his courier Sprout, and discovers Ryker is a sound mage whose defense makes Landen's attacks deal zero damage. He salvages the fight by dumping all his attribute points into Strength.
24. First Blood
Landen wins the duel with Critical Damage procs, the B-class ability Cultivate, headbutts, and wild brawling until Ryker forfeits; Maledic, watching, vows to teach Landen to fight properly. Landen's Underground legend grows — and his lack of real technique is exposed.
25. One!
River Ashlock analyzes the unreadable combat footage of Landen's procs; in Garrick Drex's fitness center, Landen levels mid-bench-press and completes a 235-pound initiation rep. Drex takes notice of the freshman anomaly.
26. Punch
Maledic begins teaching Landen to fight, starting with a straight right; Landen trains nearly all day, destroys a heavy bag, fractures his hand seven times, and collapses. His work ethic is absolute; his body keeps paying for it.
27. Mid-Laner
Professor Denna Orvyn lectures on mid-lane doctrine; Magnus Cindercrest's arrival visibly unsettles Ember; afterward, hooded students and Carl trap and humiliate Ember with pressurized water, planting Ember Reject wristband #13. The Rejects' campaign against Ember turns physical.
28. Recovery Room
Ember cries alone in the recovery room and notices Landen no longer reacts painfully to her — the seal's effect on her has faded without explanation; Liora Fenwick treats Landen's injuries while Doctor Pell confirms direct healing abilities don't exist; the Freshman Outing to Ashfen Forest is announced.
29. Freshman Outing
The freshman teams enter Ashfen Forest; Landen learns the beast ranks and shared-XP rules, is saddled with the Support supply kit, and leads Team Halvek B from Common into Uncommon territory. The class's first real beast hunt begins.
30. Jareth
Jareth solos an Iron-Hide Bristleback using Knockback and Triad Breaker, reaching Elementary Grade 3; River's scout records his abilities for analysis. Team Halvek B proves it can kill real beasts.
31. The Beast Call
River manipulates Orio Castell by dangling Landen's "Mifaso" identity as bait; Team Varro tracks Team Halvek through the forest, and Gragic's distress call summons eleven bristlebacks while Varro's members split Halvek's team apart. The ambush is sprung.
32. Team Varro vs. Team Halvek
Orio opens a kill contest — his sword against Landen's "title" — and Zirk scores first blood; with Gragic's tamed beasts, Team Varro takes a 3–0 lead. Team Halvek B is getting dismantled.
33. The Hidden Carry
Cynder Veyl reveals his Blood Covenant and White Requiem, suppressing Elle's damage and stealing a kill — Landen identifies him as a leech posing as a support. Team Varro's hidden carry is exposed mid-fight.
34. The Comeback
Landen distributes Hunter's Orbs and comms, builds a tactical overlay, and directs Jareth, Veya, and Elle in a coordinated comeback to 4–3; two Rare bristlebacks appear on the field. The tide turns — just as the real danger arrives.
35. Help Ember or Orio
Landen processes his backlog of system notifications, reaches System/Essence Level 2, and distributes his new stats; he sends his teammates toward Ember's position while taking the nearer Rare himself — meanwhile Ember and Mira are surrounded by six hooded attackers. The Rejects make their move.
36. The Rejects Make Their Move
Ember and Mira fight the Reject strike team and a bristleback stampede; both level mid-battle, but an upright Rare Bristleback blocks their escape until Jareth, Veya, and Elle arrive. The ambush escalates beyond a prank into attempted murder.
37. The 2nd Wave - Rare Bristleback
The team reveals new abilities — Veya's True Sight, Ember's three-flame combustion chain — and drops the Rare; the apparently dead beast revives, cripples Ember and Mira, and is beheaded by the arriving Landen. Landen saves them, but the revival goes unexplained.
38. The Aftermath
In the hospital, Halvek awards two Rare cores but assigns Drex discipline for the unauthorized Uncommon-zone push; Landen learns the ambush specifically targeted Ember; Maledic drags him to the Underground, where River is waiting to challenge him. Consequences land on every side.
39. The Underground
Landen offers his Rare cores for information on Ember's attackers; River instead demands a title match in one week — win, and he names the culprits; lose, and he takes Landen's title. Meanwhile Micah Rush triples the bounty on Ember, alive or dead, and receives a message from Cedric Lowen.
40. Battle Room Drex
Drex brutalizes Landen inside a reset-capable forest Battle Room; Landen fails the survival quest but walks out physically restored thanks to the room's state reset. The Halvek–Drex rivalry and its history surface.
41. Battle Room Halvek
Halvek teaches Essence Skin extraction in his scorching desert Battle Room and gives Landen a pass/fail warrior ultimatum; Landen refuses the System's instant-learning shortcut, choosing to learn the technique the hard way. His pride in earned skill wins over optimization.
42. Essence Reassessment
Reassessment reveals several five-star freshmen and four-star Halvek members; Ember explains that five stars cap Elementary — Intermediate needs a true breakthrough, not bigger numbers — while Landen still can't enter his dantian. The class power ladder is redrawn, with Landen officially at the bottom.
43. The Hacker
Landen discovers Bob built his dantian as a biological integrated circuit; he crashes it into manual debug mode, unlocks the hidden [ SYSTEM API ], writes an Essence Extraction driver ("Hello World" ability), and routes his own essence for the first time — then walks into his second Drex punishment session. The hacker becomes the hacked system.
Unpublished Draft: Ch 44 (from the author's Drive — NOT canon)
The "Chapters" folder contains a rough, fragmentary draft of Ch 44 (working title "Ch 44"). It is not publish-ready and not canon; summarized here for completeness. (Spot-checks confirmed the folder's drafts of published chapters — Ch 1, Ch 43 — match the published text essentially verbatim; genuine early drafts live in the archive subfolder, e.g. "Ch 30 - Joren" vs. published "Ch 30 - Jareth," "Ch 19 - Dormitory" vs. "Ch 18 - Dormitories.")
Maledic takes Landen to the Underground leaderboard arena to level up, where they meet River Ashlock (#2, Team Drex captain), who sets their high-stakes 1v1 one week out. River's hacker uncovers Landen's Team B / Ember connection, and River cuts a deal with Micah Rush and the Ember Rejects: during the duel he'll stage an arena distraction so the Rejects can ambush Ember off-site. The dramatic irony: Landen trains believing it's a standard duel, while Ember secretly plans to attend and spy on him — walking straight into the trap.
Notable draft details: new quest [New Quest: Tag Kael Halvek] (reward 200 EXP, +7 Agility, +3 Intelligence); Halvek's essence-training sequence (extract from dantian → circulate with full control → push to palms → expand an energy balloon from the body's center to the skin → release); the Halvek stepping technique "pulses energy at a precise frequency"; Halvek's battle gear (long Masamune sword, short sword, paired wrist energy blasters, white face-mask with red concentric circles); River's backstory (lower-district kid gangs, befriended a bullied Torvin, "special kid's camp" where they learned essence); Underground standings (River #2, Maledic #3, Orio #4, Ricker #5); Micah Rush berating his battered crew — the giant, the trapper, the doubler, the water user — for failing to capture "one scrawny girl"; Landen suffers curse-induced agony near Ember; Ember was "subtly touched" by his infirmary promise ("I won't let you get hurt like that again").
